the conversion

Gustaf Munch-Petersen: Naked Human

we understood nothing,

knew nothing,

and we comforted each other

we doubted together –

but one day

my world became clear,

and my sky light and warm –

that day

I saw,

I heard it,

and I understood,

why the earth before was grey,

and why the sky now was light –

but the others,

who understood nothing –

I wanted to save them;

but they

shook their heads,

and I

attained scorn in my voice.
